YOU WERE BORN TO BE CREATIVE.
TIME TO ACT LIKE IT.
Somewhere along the way, someone told you to color inside the lines. And you listened.
Born Creative is the workshop James Victore built from almost 20 years of teaching at the School of Visual Arts in New York, boiled down to just over five hours. It starts with one question: what do I have to say?
From there, it goes back to the things that made you weird as a kid, and shows you why they are exactly what your work is missing. Through short talks, real assignments and honest crits, you will learn to take a brief and make it your own, trust your gut, and ask more of yourself, your work and your audience.
No rules. No right way. Just you, finally showing up in the work.
WHAT'S INSIDE
21 video lessons across eight chapters, plus two bonus sessions (23 in all). Each big idea comes with an assignment and a crit, so you see the thinking land in real work.
- Look at Me - being seen, heard and loved, and why your work is a gift
- Love - assignment and crit
- Always the Other - the cliché, and how to get past it
- Explodes in the Brain
- Big Nothing, Little Nothing - assignment, crit, and why you shouldn't fall in love
- There Ain't No Rules - yesterday, today, tomorrow
- Allow Freedom - plus show and tell
- Born (Wildly) Creative
Bonus: Do the Work, and Show and Tell Part 2.
